I have the great pleasure of exhibiting some of my work at the Annual West Cork Creates Exhibition from August 3rd to 19th at CNOC Bui Arts, Union Hall, Co. Cork.
The theme of the West Cork Creates Summer Exhibition 2024 is ‘Making Connections’. This is a broad theme that should be freely interpreted and gives scope for artists to respond in ways that are specific to their practice. Artists connect with their audience through the communication of ideas and feelings in the works they make. The theme could refer to connections between people or the link between artists and their chosen media, subject matter, landscape or a specific location. In other scenarios Making Connections literally sparks new ideas.
Human beings constantly need to connect with others, whether it be face to face or through sending messages or by phone – we do it all the time. Visual artists might make connections with others to produce collaborative work for this exhibition.
